Fraud Alerts by Text Message

We’re making it easier and faster to help protect your account. If we notice a suspicious transaction, you’ll now receive a text message directly to your mobile phone asking you to verify it.

  • If the transaction is valid, reply yes.
  • If the transaction is fraudulent, reply no.

That’s it—no links to click, just a quick reply to confirm or deny the activity.

Important Reminder:

In the past, we’ve said we would not ask you to verify transactions by clicking on a link in a text message. That hasn’t changed. We’ll never ask you to click a link or provide personal information in a fraud alert text.

Frequently Asked Questions About Cards

Lost or Stolen Cards

If your debit card is lost, misplaced or stolen, you can deactivate your card by clicking the “Deactivate” button next to the card you would like to deactivate in PeoplesOnline or Mobile Banking. If you have deactivated your card because it was misplaced and you later find your card, you can select the “Activate” button to activate the card and you can begin using the card again immediately.

To report a lost or stolen PeoplesBank Visa® Business Debit Card during banking hours, call our Customer Solutions Center at 877.888.1388.

PIN Change

To change the PIN number on your PeoplesBank Visa® Business Debit, call 800.992.3808 or visit any PeoplesBank ATM. If you have forgotten your PIN, please visit your local office.

Travel Alert

PeoplesBank has been notified by VISA of ongoing fraudulent activity in certain states within the U.S. and countries internationally. To protect our customers, we have limited transactions in these locations. We will continue to work in partnership with VISA to monitor this situation and apologize for any inconvenience. If you are traveling and will be using your debit card, please contact us at 877.888.1388 and we will ensure full access to your normal debit card transactions.
