Important Conversion Information

  • Online/Mobile Banking - You will now log into the PeoplesBank online banking and mobile banking platforms. PeoplesOnline can be accessed by clicking on the Log In button at the top of all bankatpeoples.com webpages.
     
  • Telephone Banking - The Access24 Telephone Banking number is 800.342.9100.
     
  • Cards - You should have received your new PeoplesBank Debit Card, ATM Card or HSA Card in the mail. Be sure to activate your new card and begin using it.

Account Numbers
Your bank account numbers did not change.
ATM/Debit/HSA Cards
  • You received your new PeoplesBank Visa Debit Card, ATM Card or Health Savings Account (HSA) Card in the mail before February 25, 2019. If you have not received your card(s), please contact us at 877.888.1388.
  • Activate your card, following the instructions on the label.
  • When you call to activate your card, you will be prompted to set up your Personal Identification Number (PIN) for the card.
  • Once activated, begin using your PeoplesBank Debit, ATM or HSA card(s).
  • Be sure to update any automated payments with the new card number, expiration date and 3 digit security code with merchants to ensure no disruption in service.
Online Banking/Mobile Banking
  • You will now log into the PeoplesBank online banking and mobile banking platforms. PeoplesOnline can be accessed by clicking on the Log In button at the top of all bankatpeoples.com webpages.
  • User IDs - User IDs are required to be 8 characters long. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was at least 8 characters it remained the same. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was 7 characters, add 1 to the end of your user ID. If your First Suffield Bank user ID is 6 characters, add 12 to the end of your user ID. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was less than 6 characters, please continue to add consecutive numbers until you reach a total of 8 characters. If you had both a PeoplesBank online banking account and a First Suffield Bank online banking account, you will now use your PeoplesBank logon.
  • Passwords - Your initial password will be the last 4 digits of your social security number plus your zip code for personal accounts. For business accounts, your initial password will be the last 4 digits of your Employer Identification Number (EIN) and your business zip code.
  • Mobile Banking - You will need to download the free PeoplesBank App titled PeoplesBank Mobile Access. Once your online banking is set up, you can begin accessing your accounts through the mobile app.

How does this change affect me?
Effective Monday, February 25, your accounts were transitioned to the PeoplesBank products and services. Your account numbers did not change. Your Welcome Kit outlines the changes that took place.

As a First Suffield Bank customer, you now have access to a wide array of products and services that will allow you to bank how you want to bank – whether at one of our 21 convenient banking centers in MA and CT, the 55,000 FREE ATMS worldwide through the Allpoint® network or digitally with online banking, mobile banking, mobile check deposit & more. In addition, Businesses have access to our advanced cash management and lending products.
What does the term “conversion” mean for me?
The conversion is when your accounts and services from First Suffield Bank were integrated into the PeoplesBank operating system. With the completed conversion on February 25, 2019, you are now able to use the entire banking network for your transactions.
Did my account numbers change?
Your account numbers did not change.
Were there any changes to my account as a result of the combination?
Yes. Your accounts were transitioned to the PeoplesBank products and services which are outlined in your Welcome Kit. We have transitioned your accounts as closely as possible to accounts with similar benefits. If you prefer a different type of account that is outlined in the Welcome Kit or on our website, you can contact us at 877.888.1388 or stop by one of our 21 convenient Banking Centers to have that changed.
Why did you change the name of the bank?
Federal regulators will not allow us to use the word “National” since First Suffield Bank | A DIVISION OF PeoplesBank is a state chartered bank.
Did the hours of my branch change?
Your branch hours did not change.

Can I use both First Suffield Bank | A DIVISION OF PeoplesBank and PeoplesBank ATMs free of charge?
Yes. You can use all PeoplesBank and First Suffield Bank ATMs, and you also have access to the Allpoint® network of over 55,000 FREE ATMS. Money Pass is no longer a free option for you.
Will my direct deposits and automatic payments/transfers continue without disruption?
Yes, all direct deposits and automatic payments/transfers scheduled to and from your bank account will continue without interruption. Be sure to update any automatic payments from your debit card with your new card information.


Online/Mobile Banking

How do I log into Online Banking?
You will now log into the PeoplesBank online banking platform. Online banking can be accessed by clicking on the Log In button at the top of all bankatpeoples.com webpages. Please note that your username may have changed (see below for more information). Your initial password will be the last 4 digits of your social security number plus your zip code for personal accounts. For business accounts, your initial password will be the last 4 digits of your Employer Identification Number (EIN) and your business zip code. Once you log in, you will be prompted to review and accept the Terms and Conditions and to set a permanent password. In addition, you may be prompted to set your security questions.
Did my User ID and Password change?
User IDs are now required to be 8 characters long. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was at least 8 characters it remained the same. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was 7 characters, add 1 to the end of your user ID. If your First Suffield Bank user ID is 6 characters, add 12 to the end of your user ID. If your First Suffield Bank user ID was less than 6 characters, please continue to add consecutive numbers until you reach a total of 8 characters. If you had both a PeoplesBank online banking account and a First Suffield Bank online banking account, you will now use your PeoplesBank logon.
Does PeoplesBank have a Mobile Banking App?
Yes. For Mobile Banking, you will need to download the free PeoplesBank App titled PeoplesBank Mobile Access. Once your online banking is set up, you can begin accessing your accounts through the mobile app. The First Suffield Bank app will no longer be used to access your accounts and can be deleted from your mobile device.

Can I make bill payments through Online Banking?
Yes. All scheduled bill pays will continue without any disruption in service. If you were enrolled in bill pay prior to the conversion, your payees were automatically converted over, and you have 24 months of history as well.


Visa Debit, ATM and Visa HSA Cards

What happened with my Debit or ATM Card?
You should have received your new PeoplesBank Debit or ATM Card in the mail prior to February 25. Be sure to activate your new card and begin using it. You will need to update any automated payments with the new card number, expiration date and 3 digit security code with merchants to ensure no disruption in service. Your card can now be added to Apple Pay™, Google Pay™ or Samsung Pay to enable mobile payments. If you have not received your card(s), please contact us at 877.888.1388.
Were there any changes to my Health Savings Account (HSA)?
The features and benefits of your HSA did not change. You should have received your new card in the mail prior to February 25. Be sure to activate and begin using it.
Did my Debit Card and/or ATM limits change?

Checks

Can I still use my checks?
Yes, you can continue to use your checks as you have been.
What happens to checks I have written?
Your checks will continue to process through your accounts without disruption.
I need to order new checks now, what should I do?
You may order checks at any banking center, through online banking or the Customer Solutions Center at 877.888.1388.
 

Statements and eStatements

When will I get my statements?
Your statement cycle is the last day of the month for business deposit statements and the 8th day of the month for consumer deposit statements.
If I had eStatements, do I need to re-enroll?
You do not have to re-enroll for eStatements. However, you may need to accept the Terms and Conditions the first time you go into eStatements. In addition, 18 months of your statement history was carried over.


Consumer and Business Loans

Were there any changes to my consumer loan, home equity loan, mortgage or business loans?
None of the terms of your loans changed. If you typically mail your payments you will mail them to a new address: PeoplesBank 330 Whitney Ave. Holyoke, MA 01040.
Where do I send my loan payments?
Loan payments, whether consumer or business, if automatically paid will continue to do so with no action necessary from you. If you typically mail your payments you will mail them to a new address: PeoplesBank 330 Whitney Ave. Holyoke, MA 01040.
Can I continue to make loan payments at the branch?
Yes in fact you can make your payment through online banking, mail your payment or make your payment at any one of our convenient banking center locations.
Can I view my loans online?
Yes you can view your loans in online banking.


Miscellaneous

Are my deposits still insured?
Yes. Your accounts are still insured by the FDIC up to $250,000. Additionally, because First Suffield Bank is a division of PeoplesBank, your deposits are now insured in full, without limits.

PeoplesBank provides additional insurance over the FDIC limit through the Depositors Insurance Fund (DIF). The combination of FDIC and DIF insurance provides customers with full deposit insurance on all their deposit accounts.
What is the funds availability policy?
Funds from your deposits may not be available for immediate withdrawal. For more details, refer to the terms and conditions disclosure inserted in the mail package that you received in January.
Were there any changes to the tax reporting?
You will receive your tax reporting documentation for 2018 from PeoplesBank if you have an interest earning account or loan. If applicable, you will receive your 5498 form in May.
If I had a safe deposit box, will there be any changes?
There were no changes to your safe deposit box.
What if I think a different product would be best for me?
We have selected accounts that provide you with similar benefits to your previous accounts. The data we used to determine this was based on your deposit account information as of December 21, 2018. If you would prefer a different deposit account, just call the Customer Solutions Center at 877.888.1388 or stop in any of our convenient locations in CT or MA to have your account type changed.
Were there any changes to Telephone Banking?
You will now call the PeoplesBank Access24 line for telephone banking at 800.342.9100. Your PIN will be reset to the last 4 digits of your social security number or Employer Identification Number.
I have a Certificate of Deposit (CD). Did the rate, term or other features change?
Your interest rate and term will remain the same until maturity. Please note that once your CD is renewed, after your current account matures, the minimum balance to earn interest is $1,000.
