PeoplesBank Announces Key Promotions
HOLYOKE, MA (March 4, 2015) – PeoplesBank has announced the promotions of several key associates.
Karen J. Buell has been promoted to Vice President, Customer Innovation Lab. Ms. Buell possesses more than a decade of banking experience. She joined the bank in 2006 and previously served as Assistant Vice President, eChannel Officer.
A resident of Belchertown, Ms. Buell holds a master of business administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a bachelor of science in business administration from Houghton College. In 2010, she was recognized as a BusinessWest 40 Under Forty award winner, and she received the Uncommon Volunteer award from the Greater Northampton Chamber of Commerce in 2011. Ms. Buell volunteers at Chicopee Comprehensive High School, where she teaches financial literacy.
Gail A. Richard has been promoted to Vice President, Information Systems. Ms. Richard possesses more than four decades of banking experience. Ms. Richard joined the bank in 1971 and previously served as Assistant Vice President, Information Systems Officer. A resident of South Hadley, she graduated from the Massachusetts Bankers Association’s School of Banking.
Michael E. Sugrue has been promoted to Vice President, Compliance. Mr. Sugrue possesses close to two decades of banking and auditing experience. He joined the bank in 2009 and previously served as Assistant Vice President, Compliance. A resident of Holyoke, Mr. Sugrue holds a master of business administration from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a bachelor of arts in marketing from American International College. He is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Sugrue is Vice President and a board member of the Western Massachusetts Compliance Association.
Cynthia G. Wszolek has been promoted to Cash Management Officer. Ms. Wszolek possesses 15 years of banking experience. She joined the bank in 2013, serving as a Cash Management Sales and Support Specialist. A resident of Holland, she volunteers for the American Cancer Society, serving on the planning committee for the Evening of Hope Gala. Ms. Wszolek is currently working toward an associate degree in business administration at Springfield Technical Community College.
Starr A. McGrath has been promoted to Consumer Loan Officer. Ms. McGrath possesses more than three decades of banking experience. She joined the bank in 1983 and previously served as Consumer Loan Analyst. Ms. McGrath is a resident of Southampton.
Patricia A. O’Brien has been promoted to Underwriter Officer. Ms. O’Brien possesses two decades of banking experience. She joined the bank in 2008 and previously served as Underwriter. A resident of Chicopee, Ms. O’Brien holds an associate degree in business administration from Holyoke Community College. Ms. O’Brien serves as a Director of the Holyoke Kiwanis Club.
